2017.01.10 - Sprinkler Activated - Lahaska

At 2:42 PM, Midway Volunteer Fire Company responded with Rescue 5 and Ladder 5 to an alarm call for an activated sprinkler system (a.k.a., a Water Flow Alarm). Upon arriving it was determined that there was no fire. However, there was standing water damage to shops from the failed sprinkler pipe. Firefighters worked with shop owners to mitigate the standing water to help ensure the shop owners and patrons safety. No one at the scene was reported injured. The sprinkler failure is under investigation by the Buckingham Fire Marshal.

2017.01.07 - Dwelling Fire - Buckingham

At 4:48 PM, Midway Volunteer Fire Company responded with Ladder 5 and Tanker 5 to the report of a fire in the home. Upon arrival, while there was smoke throughout the house, the fire had been extinguished by the homeowners. The fire company ensured the fire was completely extinguished, the source neutralized and ventilated the house. The family was able to return to the home within the hour. No residents or first responders were injured.

2016.12.31 - Dumpster Fire - Buckingham

On 12.31.2016 at 2:06 PM, Midway Volunteer Fire Company responded to a dumpster fire at a residence on Carversville Road. The fire and nearby tree were brought under control within minutes of arrival. No fire or rescue personnel or residents were injured. The exact cause is unknown. Damage was limited to the dumpster, nearby plastic recycle container and tree.

2016.12.27 - Dwelling Fire - Solebury

At 3:10 AM Midway Volunteer Fire Company joined nine other regional fire companies (Lambertville, Linghocken, New Hope, North Penn Goodwill, Plumsteadville, Point Pleasant, Stockton, Upper Makefield and Warwick) to extinguish and contain a fire at a fully engulfed home in Solebury Township. The primary command, of the event, was the responsibility of the New Hope Eagle Volunteer Fire Company. No fire, rescue or medical personnel or residents were injured. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Buck County Fire Marshal.

2016.12.23 - Auto Rescue - Buckingham

At 4:46 PM, Midway Volunteer Fire Company was called to assist in an extrication, from an auto, involved in an accident on Route 413 in Buckingham Township. The extrication was successful. No additional information is available at this time.

2016.12.20 - Building Fire - Lahaska

At 6:12 PM Midway Volunteer Fire Company joined three other regional fire companies (New Hope-Eagle, Doylestown, Lingohocken, North Penn Goodwill, Fire Police) to extinguish and contain a fire at a business in Peddlers Village. The primary command, of the event, was the responsibility of the Midway Volunteer Fire Company. No fire, rescue or medical personnel or employees were injured. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Buck County Fire Marshal.
