 While everything is turning green, the risk of brush fires remains high! PLEASE CHECK ONLINE WEATHER SITES FOR NWS FIRE HAZZARD WATCHES AND WARNINGS.  Old leaves, dead branches, etc. catch fire easily and spread quickly in the Spring winds. PLEASE CALL 911 if there is the SLIGHTEST HINT THE FIRE IS SPREADING. We will be glad to assist containing the brush fire. After all, neither of us wants your house to catch fire! (The above photo is from 4/8/2018 in Solebury Township. The resident had a controlled burn spread in the wind. He call immediately and together we prevented any property damage.)

 2018.02.28 at 10:00 PM Midway Volunteer Fire Company responded to an Auto Extrication on RT. 202 near Street  Road in Solebury Township. After extrication all victims were treated at the scene.

 2017.12.21 at 6:00 PM Midway Volunteer Fire Company responded to a chimney fire at a residence on Honey Hollow Road in Solebury Township. There was no apparent structural damage. Neither the residents or first responders were injured at the scene.

 2017.11.27 at 5:33 PM Midway Volunteer Fire Company responded to a building fire call behind Peddler's Village in Buckingham Township. There was damage to a bush and leaves. There was no apparent structural damage. The cause of the fire is unknown at this time. Neither the employees or first responders were injured at the scene.

 2017.11.24 at 3:34 PM Midway Volunteer Fire Company responded to a lawn mower and leaf fire on Hunters Place in Buckingham Township. There was minor damage to a tree and major damage to the lawn tractor. Neither the homeowner or the first responders were injured at the scene.   All homeowners are reminded to be attentive to the risk of fire when mowing, vacuuming or mulching dry leaves. Should the leaves ignite immediately remove yourself from the area and call 911.

 2017.11.09 AT 1:44 PM Midway Volunteer Fire Company provided mutual aid to Eagle Volunteer Fire Company in responding to a fire in a retail establishment on Main Street in New Hope, PA. There were no reported injuries at the scene. Cause and damage estimates are being determined.

 2017.11.07 at 3:42PM Midway Volunteer Fire Company responded to the report of a brush fire on Pineville Road. The team quickly put out the fire. No additional property was damaged. There were no injuries to first responders.

 2017.10.07 at 12:18PM Midway Volunteer Fire Company responded to a two vehicle accident with an entrapment. One person was extricated from the vehicle and transported to an area trauma center. Route 202 at Bycroft Road was reopened approximately 1:30PM. There were no injuries to first responders.

 2017.09.08 at 2:22 PM - Fire companies from New Hope, Hunterdon County, Upper Makefield, and Lingohocken along with Midway Volunteer Fire Company successfully extricated the driver of a panel truck involved in a single vehicle accident on Route 232. Once extricated, the driver was taken to a local hospital by Central Bucks EMS for treatment. The cause of the accident is under investigation. None of the first responders were injured.

Injuries to occupants appeared to be non-life threatening. No first responders (fie, police or EMT) were injured. The cause of the accident is under investigation.

Two individuals were removed from the vehicle (one had to be extricated) and were transported to area hospitals for treatment of their injuries. The cause of the accident is under investigation and property damage costs were not immediately available. 


 2017.06.12 at 4:07 PM - Midway Volunteer Fire Company responded to an accident on Upper Mountain Road in Buckingham Township. The driver was not seriously injured. Scene containment actions by the fire company mitigated serious environment damage from fuel or the contents of the truck.

 2017.04.25 at 2:37 PM - Rescue 5 from the Midway Volunteer Fire Company responded to a Mutual Aid Request (support) by Eagle Volunteer Fire Company to assist in an auto extrication in New Hope Borough. The vehicle was stabilized and its occupant was safely removed and transported to an area hospital. The cause of  the mishap is under investigation.

 On 2017.04.09, 2017.04.16, 2017.04.17 and 2017.04.23 Midway Volunteer Fire Company responded to Brush Fires. In all cases the fires were brought under control without major property damage. Additionally, all fires were the result of a small “controlled burns” that became unmanageable. We encourage proper fire attention and management at all times. Additionally, if wind or any unanticipated events causes the “controlled burn” to exceed your expectations CALL 911 immediately. Don’t think twice, if in doubt place the call.
