John P. Buckman September 1949- April 23, 2010
John was a veteran of the United States Army and served as a firefighter for Midway. He was a woodworker and owner of Winterhouse Furniture. John also served on the Doylestown Borough Council.
John G. Fetterolf July 11, 1908 - February 25, 1968
Charter Member, President 1969-1972, Trustee, Fire Police Officer, Firefighter, and Deputy Fire Marshall.
Charles L. Gilmore 1936 - 2010
Charles "Charlie" L. Gilmore past away on Sunday December 26, 2010. Charlie was a firefighter and member of the Midway Volunteer Fire Company for 22 years and had also served as Assistant Chief. In addition to serving the Midway Volunteer Fire Company, Charlie served as the Post Master for Lahaska and served with many community and political organizations. He also organized and promoted the East Coast timing Associaion, which staged nostalgia drag racing events.
The members of the Midway Volunteer Fire Company would like express our deepest sympathies to his family on the passing of Charles L. Gilmore.

Frank H. Lake July 2, 1880 - June 26, 1963
Charter Member, Fire Police Captain, and Trustee. Recipiant of the Distinguished Service Award.
Harold A. Shelly Jr. 1926 - 2011
Harold J. Shelly passed away on Thursday June 2, 2011. for over twenty years Harold was a volunteer firefighter and was a member of the Midway Volunteer Fire Company and the Glenside Fire Company. He was also a Navy veteran of both World War II and the Korean War. Harold was also a long-standing member of both the American Legion and the Knights of Columbus.
George R. "Smitty" Smith December 23, 1935 - September 18, 2011
George R. "Smitty" Smith passed away on Sunday September 18, 2011 at his home in Fredricksburg, PA. In additon to being a memeber of the Midway Volunteer Fire Company, George served as the Fire Marshall and the Building Inspector for Buckingham Township. George also served as a veteran of the United States Navy in the Korean War.
For forty years George and his wife Midge owned and operated the Hentown Country Store in Peddlers Village, Lahaska. George and Midge were married for fifty-one years. George enjoyed SCUBA diving with his family and was a Revolutionary War re-enactor.
Gerald L. Taylor February 25, 1940 - August 27, 2010
Gerry dedicated 40 years of his life to serving the community as a firefighter and Life Member of Midway and an EMT for Central Bucks Ambulance. He also served as a "Hot Shot" firefighter for the State Forestry Department of Pennsylvania.
Lewis Wilson September 23, 1943 - June 16, 2011
Born on September 23, 1943, Lew served his country as a Veteran of the United States Army and served as a Special Agent of the Florida Department of Law Enforcement for 28 years, where he was involved in fugitive apprehension. More recently, Lew served the Midway Volunteer Fire Company as a Fire Police Officer for the past 10 years.
