The only Line Officer that the fire company had from 1931 until 1938 was a Chief. In 1938 the position of Deputy Chief was added. As both the number of firefighters and fire calls increased, there was a need for additional leadership on the fire ground.

In 1951 the position of First Assistant Chief was added, this position is now known as the Assistant Chief.  And in 1963 the position of Second Assistant Chief was added. This position is now the Battalion Chief.

In 1992 two Lieutenants were appointed by the Chief until 1995, when the fire company began electing Lieutenants during the Line Offer elections each year. One Lieutenant is assigned to each station.

The first year the position of Fire Police Captain was added to the fire company was 1948.
