Helping Our Own
Arrangements were made for Cherokee River’s Chief Steve Bison and Captain Klieta Bagwell to visit Midway Volunteer Fire Company’s Station 5 in Lahaska, Pennsylvania on Saturday, March 12th to pick up the fire fighting equipment. The donated equipment includes 15 sets of personal protective equipment without which the Cherokee River volunteers have been actively fighting fires. The Cherokee River volunteers have a fire truck which was donated by Hagerstown, Maryland. Richland Fire Company also donated much needed breathing apparatus. Midway’s Fire Police Captain John Reinhardt and his wife Mary provided housing for the visiting firefighters from Cherokee River. Members of Midway VFC joined the visitors for a tour of the stations and the exchange of equipment on Saturday morning. The press was there to cover the event represented by NBC 10 News and The Intelligencer. |
